Norcros, the supplier of branded showers, tiles and adhesives with group operating companies including Triton Showers, Johnson Tiles and Norcros Adhesive - and which is also active overseas with operations in South Africa and Australia, has acquired brassware specialist Vado.
This Summer will see the Society of British Interior Design launch an exchange programme to create educational opportunities and professional exposure for interior design students from both sides of the Atlantic. The move comes following a meeting with similar bodies from other parts of the world, which has been dubbed the 'Acronyms meeting'
As the much anticipated May Design Series draws ever closer, the dialogue surrounding this brand new exhibition concept is gathering pace. And, with so many exciting features happening prior to the show as well as throughout, it’s no wonder it’s got the industry talking.
To coincide with the Conversation Series seminar session ‘Urban design: kitchens and bathrooms for smaller spaces’, kbb LDN is on a mission to find the very best kitchen and bathroom products produced for small spaces. Compact places can be equally as smart, innovative and comfortable as the grandest London apartment, and this campaign is set to prove just that. It gives the industry a forum to show off their most compact products and to see and discuss the advancements from others in the market.

July sees the beginning once more of Independent Retailer Month - a campaign that has been supported since its launch by The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association.

A cabinet manufacturer was fined this month for safety failings after part of an employee's finger was cut off in machinery. Michael Page was using a rotating circular saw to cut a piece of wood at Richmond Cabinet Company, on the Hadfield Industrial Estate in Hadfield, Glossop, in October 2011 when it severed the top of the little finger on his left hand. High Peak Magistrates' Court heard that Mr Page, from Stalybridge, had pushed the wood through the saw by hand whereas he should have been given a push-stick or another tool to use.
Allyson Doak is the Crosswater Group's National Sales Manager for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. With over 20 years' experience in the bathroom industry, Allyson who, has been with the company for six years, was promoted in November last year and feels her success is partly down to the compelling product mix in the Crosswater Group but also - and significantly, the increasing confidence in the Scottish economy.
