Cabuchon Bathforms launches 5th generation deep soaking tub - the Yasahiro

* yasahiro-deep-soaking-tub.jpgBritish bath manufacturer Cabuchon Bathforms has announced the launch of the Yasahiro, a modern take on the traditional Japanese Ofuro and a bath that draws upon more than 20 years' experience in deep soaking tub design.

Since the 1991 launch of its first contemporary, Japanese-style deep soaking tub - the Imersa, the company has been steadily introducing new and improved designs.

The Yasahiro represents the company's 5th generation of deep soaking tubs - and, as such, it incorporates everything its designers have learned about comfort, access and utility.

Key features include a sculpted back-rest, a low seat that optimises bather comfort, a soft headrest and long integrated armrests. These aid entry to the bath and allow the user to maintain a position that is both relaxed and well supported. The Yasahiro also boasts a large footwell that makes it suitable for use with overhead or wall-mounted showers.

The Yasahiro's seat is lower than in other Cabuchon deep soaking tubs and this has enabled the company to reduce its overall height. The bather can still soak chest-deep in the same depth of water as in previous models but its lower sides make it easier to enter, and an external step is now rendered unnecessary.

The Yasahiro can be installed free-standing but its compact dimensions - 1440mm x 850mm (56.75" x 33.5") - make it especially well-suited for use as a corner bath and in smaller bathrooms typical of city apartments, townhouses and boutique hotels. It can also be built into a raised deck or sunk into a floor.

Like all Cabuchon baths, every Yasahiro is hand-built by a team of British craftsmen and can therefore be customised to include, for example, hydrotherapy or chromotherapy systems. The bath is manufactured from the company's own Ficore composite, which carries a 25 year guarantee. Cabuchon can match literally any colour and will match any current (and many past) sanitaryware colours in its standard pricing. For an extra fee, it can also match the base colour of any tile, paint, stone or textile.

The use of Ficore affords additional benefits: it is stronger and more rigid than any non-metal or non-stone bath and it possesses superior heat insulation and energy-saving properties. In independent tests, it has been shown to keep water hot more than six times longer than acrylic and more than 12 times longer than vitreous enamelled metal.
