SHD acquires majority stake in ArtiCAD
As of 11th February 2016, SHD AG acquired the majority of the shares in British software specialist, ArtiCAD Holdings. The company founder, Richard Turner and director of corporate sales, Daniel Allerton, will remain as shareholders and will be responsible for the further development and sales strategy for ArtiCAD's software solutions.
ArtiCAD was founded in 1992 and specialises in the development and marketing of design software and custom technologies for the kitchen, bedroom & bathroom industry. Today, it is one of the leading players in the international market for visual planning software and its flagship products, ArtiCAD-Pro and BathCAD, are used by more than 7500 designers in the UK market alone, with a rapidly expanding number of users in North America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.

Since its foundation in 1983, SHD has focused on development and implementation of IT solutions for the kitchen and furniture retail channel, within which it holds a market leading position in the DACH region.
The focus of the group is development and sales of ERP systems for furniture retailers, planning solutions for kitchen, bathroom and living rooms, as well as cross-industry solutions for warehousing, financial and personnel management.
Considerably more than 2,000 commercial and industrial companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands are using software, hardware and services provided by the SHD group. The company has 380 employees.
