Utopia prepares for major product launch
Utopia Bathrooms has invested over £250,000 in a sophisticated new automated through-feed painting line at its Wolverhampton manufacturing facility and headquarters. By offering an additional painted furniture finish alongside pressed and laminated options, the company is poised to take full advantage of lucrative opportunities in the bathroom furniture market.
"The new machinery comprises a sanding machine, robotic spraying action, automatic paint changing and a drying chamber," explains managing director Dave Conn. "It will automatically spray simple flat panels and raised designs but can also by means of simple camera technology, spray panels of any shape. In terms of capacity, it can process over 200 panels per hour."
Dave Conn continues, "Now, following extensive trials and testing, we are confident that we have achieved the perfect painted finish using a specially formulated paint which has the necessary durability and resilience to withstand the increased moisture and humidity levels in the bathroom. The new process represents significant investment for us which we aim to recoup fully with our major new product launch this Summer."
