Gorenje joins Hollywood star in raising money for charity

Gorenje, the Slovenian manufacturer famed for its creative and innovative appliances, joined Hollywood star Kevin Costner in raising money for a good cause at a 'Diners Club of Slovenia' event.

Actor, director and winner of two Academy Awards, Kevin Costner, and his country rock band 'Modern West', played for an audience of more than 1,200 guests at a black tie dinner in Slovenia. The Diners Club of Slovenia event also included a charity auction of three Gorenje Crystallized Swarovski Elements fridge freezers, a pair of special edition Elan skis and Kevin Costner's autographed guitar.

The auction, along with donations, raised £25,000 for the Friends of the Youth Association of Slovenia and will be used to pay for Summer holidays for more than 150 children from economically deprived Slovenian families.

"We were delighted to be part of such an event featuring Kevin Costner and to help a deserving cause by donating three beautiful Crystallized Swarovski Elements fridge freezers for the charity auction," enthuses Ruth Ferguson, Marketing Manager for Gorenje. "We hope the children have a summer holiday to remember!"
