'Support and growth for retailers' key messages from KBSA AGM and conference

* KBSA-2nd.jpgThe Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association has hailed the 2017 AGM Conference and Networking Dinner as the best one ever, as more retailers than ever attended event.

There were over 120 delegates in total in attendance, with 43 retailers attending an exclusive dinner the night before - a new addition to the programme, providing retailers with an additional opportunity to network. The evening included two presentations from corporate sponsors Blum and Neff.

Simon Jones director at BSH Kitchen division talked about seamless living, urging retailers to take the opportunities presented by technology and the development of the connected home. He outlined how powerful modern apps already are and their potential to have an impact on people's lives, not just in the kitchen.

David Sanders, sales & marketing director from Blum gave an entertaining talk about the importance of education, including his own experiences as a boy from Liverpool who was given the chance to take the 11 plus, to illustrate his message.

Other new additions to this year's programme included a number of business briefing sessions and workshops covering key topics such as legal services, insurance, social media, digital services and PR.

The popular 'Meet the Corporate' initiative was repeated with key sponsors Britannia, Clear/QANW, Cosentino, Whirlpool, Omega and PWS on hand to meet with retailers.

National Chair Richard Hibbert said that the KBSA had taken on board feedback from last year to make the changes and present a new format and features to benefit retailers.

Uwe Hanneck, acting KBSA CEO, presented the future strategy of the KBSA, reinforcing the Association's commitment to improving benefits and bringing on board new members. He said: "We have a clear mission to work 'Better Together' and be a powerful and legitimate voice for the sector.

"We are on track to achieve these goals and confirm our position as the only trade association to support and represent the independent KBB retailers."
