Gorenje donates appliances to ITV renovation project

Slovenia-headquartered appliance manufacturer, Gorenje, has donated a variety of appliances to a charitable cause, working with ITV in Chester.

The third instalment of ITV's Love Your Home & Garden, which aired at 8pm on 13th September, saw retirees Richard and Ann Price receive a home overhaul, creating a dream home for the couple as a thank you for their outstanding services to charity and the community.

Gorenje donated a retro fridge freezer, induction hob, downdraft extractor and dishwasher to the project, in which the retirees saw their home completely renovated and restructured to create a sophisticated ground floor that better utilised the available space.

The outside space was also remodelled, not only for aesthetic benefits, but to create a suitable area for Ann, who homes and trains guide puppies.

Ann's husband, Richard, is also well known in the local community for his volunteer work with Samaritans, listening to and talking people through concerns and troubles.

Richard Mackey, product manager at Gorenje UK, says: "As a company, we always try to support and donate to worthy causes like this when and where we can. This one was especially heart-warming, as it was all about giving back to a couple that have devoted their lives to working with charities and helping those around them.

"It was great to watch the episode back and we especially loved the reaction to our green retro fridge freezer - it certainly seemed to be a talking point in the big reveal!

"Overall, it was just great to see a couple that has given so much get something back in return and we're glad we could do our bit to help."
