BMA to focus on plastics waste at AGM

* BMA-plastics.jpgThe Bathroom Manufacturers Association will be focusing on plastics waste at its AGM meeting on 20th June. This year's event will be held at a convenient central location at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel, Kidderminster.

As in previous years, the morning will be dedicated to updating full members on key topics that have a direct impact on their businesses.
Keele University will be presenting the plastics waste session and sharing details of its ongoing research into eradicating single use and difficult to recycle plastics.

"This is a huge topic for our industry..." says BMA CEO Yvonne Orgill. "One that impacts on all manufacturers because of the amount of packaging and protective materials their products require.

"With predications that the amount of plastic in the world's oceans is set to treble in a decade unless action is taken to deal with the problem, this is a challenge we all need to rise to."

Alongside the presentation on plastics waste, members will also have an exclusive preview of a new industry bathroom package from a BMA affiliate member and they will be the first to hear the results from the recent consumer research undertaken by the BMA, with access to copies of the report available, free to members.

"Our AGM presentations are only open to members but we will be inviting a small number of potential members to join us and see first-hand the value of the insights and essential knowledge that is provided," adds Yvonne.

The AGM meeting and open sessions that follow the morning presentations are open to affiliate members. Members of the board will be elected at the AGM and the afternoon sessions include an overview and report of the association's activities and campaigns during the year.
