Sale of Trade Warehouses facilitates expansion into retail sector

Following successful negotiations with on-line retailer TileClick, British Ceramic Tile has agreed to sell its four Trade Warehouses in Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester and Cardiff.

The four outlets, currently trading under the British Ceramic Tile Trade Warehouse heading, will continue to operate as usual to provide service and value to the trade market. However, the sale will also enable the company to expand into the retail sector.

Jeremy Turner, Head of Business Development for TileClick explains: "TileClick has been one of the UK's leading online tile retailers since 2004, welcoming steady and structured growth in turnover and products available.

"We are very excited about making the move into the bricks and mortar store market in purchasing the four outlets from British Ceramic Tile, which will bring new opportunities - including more products and brands."

Matthew Gazzard, Chief Executive of British Ceramic Tile adds: "We are very happy to have been able to agree a way forward with Tile Click, which is a highly valued customer of British Ceramic Tile".

The factory shop located on-site at the main British Ceramic Tile factory in Heathfield, Devon will continue to provide customers, both trade and public, with a comprehensive range of wall and floor tiles, decors and strips from the British Ceramic Tile, Laura Ashley and Studio Conran collections.
