Stephen Joseph takes financial stake in Theobald's Distribution

Stephen Joseph, the former managing director of Allied Kingswood, has taken a controlling interest in Kent-based Theobald's Distribution.

Stephen, who has been acting as a consultant to Theobald's since September 2009, becomes the CEO of the company and will be working with present directors Jamie Gardiner (Operations Director) and Steve Brooks (Sales Director).

"I was impressed with Theobald's from day one of my consultancy," says Stephen. "It has a great portfolio of products and an extremely good customer base. However, it soon became obvious that there was a bigger role for me at Theobald's than that of a part-time consultant.

"My faith in the company and its staff is such that I was prepared to work with Theobald's on a full time basis and I have made a substantial investment in it.

"It's no secret that the company has had a temporary cash flow problem, due to the current economic climate. The injection of working capital will enable Theobald's to put this problem behind it, retain the goodwill of its suppliers, and continue to supply customers as usual.

"I am looking forward to my new role and to working with our suppliers and customers in building on the successful relationships Theobald's already enjoys."
