Carron Phoenix announces the sale of its commercial business to Franke UK
Carron Phoenix has agreed the sale and transfer of its commercial business to Franke UK, forming a single legal entity for the trading of both brands in the UK and Ireland markets.
Carron Phoenix has been part of the Swiss-owned Franke Group for 22 years and until now has traded autonomously. The merger will consolidate functions within both businesses and the sale is expected to complete by 1st January 2013.
Says Tracey Bamber, managing director of Franke UK:
"The integration of the two businesses is a very positive move for the Franke and Carron brands, giving us a stronger position to serve our customers in a challenging environment. By combining our operations we can optimise our service levels, share warehousing and logistics capability, as well as satisfy all sectors of the market with a broad product and brand portfolio in sinks and taps."
The business will be realigned and most commercial functions will be located at the headquarters of Franke UK, based in Manchester. The Carron Phoenix site at Falkirk will focus on the manufacture, warehousing and logistics for coloured granite sinks for the Franke Group worldwide. In a further positive move, the warehousing activity will be strengthened at Falkirk as it will handle the logistics, stockholding and supply for both Carron Phoenix and Franke branded product for the UK market, providing a first-class service to customers.
The integration signals a positive progression for two respected and well-known sink and tap brands. While each will maintain its current positioning, going forward the company envisages a collaborative approach to product development and strategy enabling them to serve all sectors of the market effectively and comprehensively.
The two brands of Franke and Carron Phoenix will continue to operate with no disruption to customers during the integration process. For Carron Phoenix customers, their accounts, together with their terms and conditions, will be transferred across to Franke UK. Customers purchasing Franke product will continue to be serviced by the existing network of Franke distributors that have served them well for many years.
