Important warning - Internet scam involving appliance purchases
The Kitchen Bathroom & Bedroom Specialists Association has been advised that there is at least one scam in operation at the moment targeting specialist retailers for appliance purchases. Requests are received via email/Internet.
Payments are then being made via stolen credit cards and the appliances picked up by couriers normally within a couple of hours. As far as we are aware the couriers are not involved and are also being paid via the stolen credit cards.
"Please make sure that you meet, in full, your credit card provider's terms and conditions which should enable you to reclaim any losses between £100 and £30,000," warns the KBSA.
"If you are approached in this way, and believe a scam is involved, contact your local Trading Standards office and local police."
Here is a sample email received by a retail member in the South West:

I don't have any brand or size in mind.. but a top class brand name will do.
Kindly send me pricing and availability on this item Exclude shipping
from quote since unit will be collected from your location.
