KBSA recognises supplier excellence
The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association has presented the inaugural KBSA supplier awards at the 2010 kbbr Kitchen Conference. The awards recognise excellence in those companies that supply products to KBSA retailers and are the first awards of their kind that represent the views of retailers and not a panel of judges.
The winners include Neff for best product supplier and Miele for best training provider, while a joint award went to Omega and Mereway Kitchens/Wentworth for best display support.
Retailers voted for their top companies as part of the 2009/10 KBSA supplier survey, which has supplied valuable information about the amount of business generated by retail members for corporate members. Statistics from this first survey report that around £226million of sales is generated at retail sale prices, which breaks down as £59m from appliances, £32m from work surfaces, £18m sinks and taps and £117m furniture.
"We are delighted that such well recognised and well respected companies have received these awards, congratulations to them all," said KBSA CEO Graham Ball.
"The KBSA is the only association to offer both retail and corporate membership in the kbb industry and this relationship is a key benefit for both parties. KBSA retailers are responsible for a substantial quantity of sales of premium products supplied by our corporate members and many corporate members have seen their sales increase after taking part in the trading benefit initiatives that we currently offer."
