Franke launches its first downdraft hood
Responding directly to retailer demand, Franke has introduced a brand new downdraft hood in chic stainless steel and black glass, the first of its kind in the Franke range and boosting the company's portfolio of styles to cater for a range of kitchen designs. The product is part of Franke's 2013 range update and became available to retailers at the end of May.
Gliding into action and then sliding away out of sight at the touch of a button, the Downdraft Hood is an ideal style for creating the sleek lines in open plan living, offers greater design freedom as it can be located anywhere in a kitchen layout and also removes the visual barrier of a hood over an island unit.
The FDW 908 IB XS Downdraft Hood combines functionality with 'techy chic' and features a black glass and stainless steel casing and measures 880mm wide. It can be mounted from either the top or bottom of the worktop and the motor can be fixed on either side and rotated 90 degreesfor total flexibility of the outlet tube exit.
The Downdraft Hood offers powerful localised extraction with extraction rates of: min 265, max 565 and intensive 725m.cu/hr and noise levels of: min 49, max 66 and intensive 71 DB, removing steam and odours while remaining quiet in operation.
Other key features of this hood include electronic touch control; optional remote control; 4-speed plus intensive speed settings; an energy 1000W motor; LED bar lighting and comfort lighting; automatic cut-off timer and a filter saturation indicator.
Says Jeanette Ward, communications manager at Franke:
"Downdraft hoods are the 'less is more' of kitchen extraction and work especially with the sleek design lines of open plan living. Retailers have been asking us to introduce this style into our range and this gives them a premium design and specification to work with."
