Thomas Crapper selected for Jamie's in Richmond

* ThomasCrapper-PR.jpgAs with all of the Jamie's Italian Restaurants, in the new Jamie's Italian Trattoria on the very fashionable King Street near Richmond Green, the lavatories have been fitted out with the distinguished and highly recognisable products of one of Britain's finest and most traditional manufacturers of bathroom products, Thomas Crapper & Co.

The timeless appeal of exact replicas of the original antique WC's augmented with distressed cast metal cisterns and nostalgic ceramic 'beer pull' levers and solid hardwood seats helps create the unique atmosphere in this Jamie's Trattoria where retro graphics and attention to detail bring contemporary and traditional genres together in a delightful ambiance.

Established in 1861 by Master Plumber Thomas Crapper the quality products - which today cover the entire gambit of bathroom requirements - have always been hallmarked by their high level of design and uncompromising quality. Always the innovator, Thomas Crapper opened the first ever bathroom showroom just off the Kings Road in 1870 and swiftly gained recognition from the thriving Victorian boom in building and design as well as from Royalty - the first of four Royal Warrants was awarded by Edward Prince of Wales and Thomas Crapper products adorn the bathrooms in various Royal residences today.

Typical of the current generation of management at Thomas Crapper today is the level of bespoke attention that the designers of Jamie's establishments have received. For example, while all Jamie Oliver restaurants are equipped with Thomas Crapper WCs, those in the Trattoria are the very first to be exclusively personaliSed, with 'The Oliver' cast into the metal face of each cistern. The WCs in the Trattoria are the first to be personalised with the words 'Jamie Oliver & Family' glazed into the WC pan instead of the normal 'Thomas Crapper & Co', 'Conceived in Essex 1975' where 'Made in Great Britain' should be, and other personalised details.

For those who lift the lacquered solid seat, they will also be treated to the thought provoking epithet 'With You For The Journey' on the rim of the loo where 'The Venerable' would normally be found!

All Thomas Crapper products are made by the company and in Great Britain
All brassware available in Polished Brass, Bright nickel or Chromium Plate

WC seats are manufactured from either solid Oak or solid Mahogany
