New Whirlpool fridge freezer prolongs life of fruit and vegetables
Food waste has become a very serious issue in recent times. Far too much good food is consigned to the rubbish bin through laziness or because our cooling appliances are not sufficiently equipped to keep fresh food in pristine condition.
Despite the rising cost of food almost 50% of the total amount of food thrown away in the UK comes from our homes. We throw away 7.2 million tonnes of food and drink every year, which is equivalent to around £50 per month per household.

Nature Fresh technology, in the form of a module in the fruit and vegetable drawer, slows down the maturing of fruit and vegetables so that food stays fresher for up to 50% longer than normal. The module contains a sachet of natural salts that absorb ethylene. Ethylene plays a key role in the ripening of fruit and the ageing of vegetables, and Nature Fresh technology extends the life of both.
