* Winner_Carel.jpgElectrolux held its first ever Supplier Awards event last week, celebrating its top direct material suppliers from around the world.

Twelve winners were selected from the Group's 3,000 suppliers. The winners of the Electrolux global Supplier Awards are EuroKera (twice), Jones Plastic and Engineering, Inplac, Benedict, Chunju, Huntsman, Nuova Star, Daerim Precision, Sanhua AWECO, Carel Industries, and Maersk.

"It's extremely important to acknowledge the excellent performance of our key suppliers and highlight the value they bring to Electrolux," said Gregoire Letort, Chief Purchasing Officer. "We really appreciate the commitment of our long-standing and newer partnerships."

From materials and components such as ceramic glass, motors, plastics and electronics to transportation, the Supplier Awards recognize suppliers for their highest standards of quality, innovation, performance, service, cost, on-time delivery and sustainable practices.

Thirty finalists gathered for a 1-day event at Electrolux headquarters in Stockholm featuring a supplier showcase on innovation and productivity, a tour of the Group's newest products and the awards ceremony.

"I'd like to congratulate all the winners who help us be more successful in our business and more innovative in our products," Gregoire Letort. "Our suppliers are critical in helping us achieve our business results and deliver best-in-class products to local and global markets."

Winners were chosen in three categories: Supplier Excellence, Supplier Innovation and Global Logistics.

The Supplier Excellence Award recognises operational excellence in product development, price competitiveness, outstanding quality and supply chain as well as social and environmental practices. Suppliers nominated for this award have a sustainable performance record that enables Electrolux factories to produce the most competitive home appliances with the best quality.

The Supplier Innovation Awards recognises collaboration between Electrolux and its suppliers to develop new innovative components that make a difference in our products and for our consumers.

The Global Logistics Award recognizes the best shipping company that provides the highest quality of service, on-time delivery, performance, cost competitiveness and sustainability practices.

Electrolux sells more than 40 million products to customers in more than 150 markets every year. In 2012 Electrolux had sales of approx 12 billion euros and about 61,000 employees.
