Maytag launches new Premier Centres

* Maytag-Gillmans.jpgMaytag, renowned for its superior quality appliances and American heritage, has launched a new retailing concept, Maytag Premier Centres.

This new blueprint for the brand will offer a variety of benefits to both consumers and the retailers involved in the scheme. It will ensure that the high quality Maytag appliances are sold by the best independent retailers across the country. Their staff, trained by Maytag, will have expert knowledge to introduce customers to Maytag appliances, matching their lifestyle needs.

Maytag's independent retail partners, Maytag Premier Centre dealers, will benefit from the brand's reputation of high quality and robust design, as well as receiving marketing support, including advertising and PoS material. Importantly their margins will be protected since they will be selling exclusive offers available only through the high street Premier Centres. Staff of Maytag Premier Centres will receive in-depth product training and will be rewarded, with highly attractive staff incentives, for their efforts.

The network of Maytag Premier Centres will be rolled out across the country, with 10 leading independent electrical dealers currently being invited to join the scheme.

Simon Starkie, National Account Manager, Maytag says: "The Maytag brand needs to be sold by retailers who seriously know their stuff. This is the rationale behind the development of the Premier Centres concept.

"We are working with our sole and exclusive Maytag distributor DAD, and the first Maytag Premier Centre is Gillman's of Gloucester, which opened this month. We're hoping to encourage around ten specialist retailers to become Premier Centres over the following months who will do justice to the brand."

Lee Gillman, Purchasing and Director of Sales at DAD explains: "The Maytag Premier Centre concept offers a number of fantastic benefits for participating retailers.

"The Centres will have exclusive offers, available only through the high street retail stores. The concept includes staff incentives, advertising support and a variety of point of sale materials, including attractive display stands, on which Maytag appliances may be demonstrated 'live', as is the case at Gillman's in Gloucester.

"The concept has been developed to give the best possible representation of the brand and to protect retailers' margins. Bearing in mind that Maytag is a high quality brand this should be a win-win proposition for everyone."

The development of the Maytag Premier Centres concept coincides with introduction of the brand's 10-year parts warranty. Earlier this year Maytag unveiled its 10-year parts and two-year labour warranty on all its appliances.

The warranty offers the consumer extra value for money alongside real peace of mind. It is also an excellent selling tool for the retailer, helping to add value to each sale. The warranty covers all parts across the entire Maytag range, dishwashing, laundry and cooling. It also includes Maytag's dishwasher, the MDW 0713 AGW, which consumes just six litres of water in a standard cycle.

Well-established, independent electrical retailers, with good showroom facilities, who are interested in becoming a Maytag Premier Centre, should contact Lee Gillman of DAD for more information.
