Swan celebrates a stellar year

* Swan_Vintage.jpgAs 2014 draws to a close, one of Britain's longest established brands, Swan, is celebrating what has been an exciting and successful trading year.

Well known for developing the first heating element that could be immersed in water and producing good value small electrical appliances, Swan launched its Vintage Collection in 2013 and enjoyed a great first year, with sales doubling forecast.

Offering customers a host of small and large electrical appliances for their kitchen, the Vintage Collection consists of retro styled kettles, toasters, a stand mixer, dishwasher and refrigeration options in a variety of colours suitable for both contemporary and traditional kitchen designs. Distribution has gathered pace with established retailers such as Very, Littlewoods and AO coming on board.

* Swan_Winter_Warmer.jpgIn 2014, due to its popularity, the range was expanded to include a Vintage Digital Microwave and sales grew even stronger; again exceeding expectations with an average of over 300 microwaves a week, tripling its sales forecast.

The brand also exhibited at IFA, Berlin for the first time in September 2014, as well as adding the Winter Warmer Collection to its small appliance range for Christmas. Built around the growing trend for visiting European Christmas markets, products include a Table Grill, Raclette and Gluhwein Urn.

"Swan is a growing brand, and we are extremely pleased that year on year growth has exceeded all expectations in 2014," says Rob Wileman, commercial director at Swan.

"The Vintage Collection has done phenomenally well and we are in the very early stages of sales for the new Winter Warmer range, but the Gluhwein Urn in particular is attracting a lot of interest, so we are looking forward to what 2015 brings."
