KBSA report says 2014 business increased by 7%
The Kitchen, Bathroom & Bedroom Specialists Association says initial figures indicate that overall value sales from its members increased by 7% in the year ending December 31st 2014. This figure confirms anecdotal reports that were seen throughout the year, with members being extremely positive about sales.
The overall average value of projects was 20% higher than the 2010 average, widely regarded as mid-recession, and members have reported good growth in both volume and value since then.
Following the launch of the KBSA's new website, several corporate members have returned to membership, along with new retail members, and the focus for 2015 is to build on the website activities which are now delivering leads to both retail and corporate members.
Graham Ball, Chief Executive Officer, says: "We are not surprised by the growth figure, as members have been saying all year that they are finding consumer confidence rising, which is reflected in the figure.
"2015 should be another positive year as this confidence continues to grow and also sees wages outpacing inflation again. Working at full capacity now since the recession, I believe many retailers are now at the crossroad where the signage is saying 'Do we start investing in growing the business to meet the demand, or 'are we happy where we are now?' These are going to be tough decisions, but they have to be made!"
The KBSA, which represents independent kbb specialists, was founded in 1978. Over 100 brands supplying the industry support the Association and its key objective of promoting the professionalism and excellence available from the independent specialist retailer.
