Electrolux named Industry Leader in RobecoSAM sustainability rating

For the fourth consecutive year, Electrolux has been ranked Industry Leader Household Durables in RobecoSAM's Sustainability Yearbook, an annual rating of companies' sustainability performance.

Over 3,000 of the world's largest companies were invited to participate in the RobecoSAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment. The top performing company from each of 59 industries received the Industry Leader award.

With the highest rating of companies assessed within the Household Durables industry, Electrolux receives all three top awards; Industry Leader, Gold Class and Industry Mover. The Industry Mover distinction is reserved for the company in each industry that has achieved the largest proportional improvement in its sustainability performance.

"RobecoSam is one of the largest global assessments of companies' sustainability performance. We are very proud to remain the Industry Leader amidst such tough competition," says Henrik Sundstrom, Vice President Electrolux Sustainability Affairs. "It is a confirmation that Electrolux has been successful in integrating sustainability in the business, but we have to continue to develop. We are currently updating our sustainability strategy to make sure we can successfully manage the challenges facing the appliance industry also in the future."

RobecoSAM said in the yearbook it had measured companies based on their sustainability performance in three dimensions: economic, environmental and social.

"Innovation, quality & services, and branding are key differentiating factors for successful companies in the household durables industry," the company said. "In addition, leading companies actively manage safety and environmental issues throughout the product lifecycle.
