CAD software specialist for the KBB sector, ArtiCAD, is helping some of the UK's largest KBB corporations put design and business intelligence at the heart of their enterprises with the implementation of the recently launched ArtiCAD Online - a new, secure, cloud-based version of the company's ArtiCAD-Pro and BathCAD-Pro software.
Major players in the KBB retail sector, including Bathstore and Harvey Jones Kitchens amongst others, are reaping the multiple benefits offered by this new product, which facilitates log on connectivity from any device with Internet access. Interestingly, designers are able to not only access their own work, but also (with authorisation) that of their colleagues, from any device, from any location and at any time of the day or night to cover for absence or illness - thus delivering ultimate flexibility and efficiency for the corporation.
Delivering the needs of head office is equally important. The software's cloud-based approach delivers measurable savings on hardware maintenance as well as making the IT budget easier to forecast. In addition, ArtiCAD can develop custom reports to use live business intelligence from ArtiCAD Online, to present management with KPIs (key performance indicators) and other important activity metrics.
This provides a fast and efficient way of tracking business performance and highlighting best practice but also helps to identify any problems so that they can be resolved as quickly as possible.
Ensuring that all a company's designers, regardless of their location, have immediate access to the latest catalogues and software updates is an essential prerequisite for a national organisation. With this latest offering, updates and the latest graphics are deployed centrally and seamlessly, and are available at the designer's fingertips immediately. No matter which device the designer uses to access ArtiCAD Online, they will be presented with their complete home desktop, including the ArtiCAD software and core applications, as well as all their Microsoft products.
This particular feature is one that has particular resonance for Harvey Jones Kitchens... "If a designer is away on holiday, their designs are easily accessible by a colleague who can make changes and continue to liaise with the client," says Susan Clark, training consultant at Harvey Jones. I can then easily access them and work with the designer on any problems they may be experiencing to reach a quick and effective solution - both for them and for their customer."
About 60 designers at Harvey Jones use ArtiCAD-Pro on a daily basis whilst a number of the company's administrative staff also use it from time to time to amend a design, if the original designer is not available. The software is also used by Harvey Jones for any new showroom developments to plan the new layout and individual design areas.
