Keep the heat in and the snoopers out this Christmas!

Window blinds are a useful winter product for the home - to seal in warmth and reduce the likelihood homes being targeted by thieves.

At this time of year, UK homes are not only under attack from the harsh winter weather pushing up winter fuel bills, but from thieves after festive booty, often proudly displayed under Christmas trees in the front window for all to see!

Step up security with a window blind while increasing the energy efficiency of the home, creating an altogether safer and more cosy winter home.

"Blinds afford security from unwanted snoopers by preventing intruders from peering in to see what they can grab quickly," says Gary Chambers of Apollo Blinds. "Research has shown that homes where items are on view are more vulnerable than those where window coverings are fitted.

"Aluminium blinds also have the added benefit of being noisy - an added deterrent."

According to The Energy Saving Trust fifth (20%) of all the heat lost from homes escapes through window panes and frames, but Apollo Blinds' energy-efficient Duette Fixé honeycombe blind is proven to cut heat loss by up to 34% during winter. Insulation values are even higher with the Duette blackout range, which incorporates a metallised film for perfect darkening and increased insulation.

The Duette's patented double-walled honeycombe design forms an air pocket that acts as an effective insulator. It is also extremely neat with no visible cords or cord holds as well as being durable and versatile - they can be fitted to any window or door, no matter what shape and size (and are ideal for conservatories and skylight windows).

Apollo made-to-measure Duette blinds are available in two different ranges - 25mm Blackout and 25mm Duotone, with 14 different colours in each collection - from whites and neutrals to vibrant colours like Royal Blue, Sunshine Yellow, Cerise Pink, Lime Green, Strawberry Red, Mustard and Charcoal.

The benefits are window blinds do not end with the practical improvements to security and heat loss. They're also really stylish and a growing trend for the home.
