I’m always telling everyone not to believe what they read in the papers but the consensus really does seem to be that these wonderful islands of ours are finally lifting themselves out of the doldrums. With construction projects on the increase, more people finding employment and house prices rising (which always tends to give property owners that feel-good factor despite only really benefiting those who are either downsizing or selling up for good, but never mind…) it really looks as if we could have turned the corner, which can only be good news for the KBB industry. I only hope that the problems currently being faced by the US Government, which have caused president Obama to warn creditors that they may not be paid what they are owed, are not going to send everything into a downward spiral before we have a chance to really reap the benefits from the upturn… Yours,

Housing construction activity increases at fastest pace for almost a decade Construction companies ended the third quarter of 2013 with a strong expansion of overall output levels and a further improvement in their new order books. This boosted employment numbers in the sector for the fourth consecutive month and the rate of job creation reached its fastest for just under six years.
