Gareth Atkin of Landau Parapan completes coastal charity ride
Gareth Atkin has pedalled his way through punctures and chain problems to cross England by bike on a 170-mile coast-to-coast charity ride. The sales and marketing director of Hull-based manufacturer Landau Parapan took part in the Way of the Roses coast-to-coast cycle route this month, riding from Morecambe to Bridlington.
He has raised more than £800 for L6ve Life Foundation, the charity set up by his friend and Motor Neurone Disease sufferer Lee Newton. L6ve Life Foundation provides funds for those who fight to find a cure and help those already living with MND.
Gareth, whose company Landau Parapan is based in Bontoft Avenue, Hull, says: "I was delighted to complete the Way of the Roses challenge, it was a great experience - although my bike took a bit of punishment with a puncture and two chain malfunctions! But we raised lots of money for a great cause and I am already thinking this could be an annual event I take part in. I am going to see who else will join me from the Landau Parapan team next time!"
Landau designs, manufactures and supplies innovative products in the furniture industry, with a speciality in quality kitchen, bedroom and bathroom components. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Landau has the knowledge and expertise to produce anything consumers and designers desire, from traditional design to ultra-modern style. Landau has established strong partnerships with leading European manufacturers and, in 2011, acquired the UK brand, manufacturing and distribution rights for Parapan, the iconic high-gloss solid acrylic sought by kitchen retailers and architects throughout the country.
