Burbidge's commitment to craftsmanship is commended with Manufacturing Guild Mark
Renowned kitchen manufacturer, Burbidge, has been awarded the prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark (MGM) following over 40 years' work designing and developing truly innovative and exceptionally crafted premium kitchens.
To mark the occasion, Burbidge's managing director, Ben Burbidge, was recently presented with the much-coveted award by Paul von der Heyde, past master of The Furniture Makers' Company.
Widely regarded as the most prestigious accolade in the furniture making industry, the MGM is available to only the top 50 furniture and furnishing manufacturers in the UK, demonstrating excellence in furniture manufacturing. As such, the judging process is a rigorous one; applicants are independently audited against a comprehensive criteria covering everything from the quality and efficiency of manufacturing methods and materials, product quality and marketing, through to environmental policy and fair working practices.
Following an intensive week long inspection, Burbidge was awarded the MGM on account of its unrivalled manufacturing capabilities and commitment to producing innovative kitchen designs, all while retaining an onus of its inherent brand values of exceptional quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Founded in 1867 by the great, great grandfather of the current managing director, Burbidge has a rich legacy in woodwork having started out specialising in wooden sports equipment before honing into the kitchen design sector 42 years ago. With a continued commitment to manufacturing excellence, the majority of Burbidge's product is built on site at its Coventry factories and the business continues to plough investment in broadening its manufacturing capabilities - producing timber and painted kitchens for the mid to top end kitchen market.
