Wirquin wins once more

At the recent Doncaster Business Awards 2015 ceremony, sanitary specialist Wirquin came first in the category for 'Excellence in Corporate, Social and Environmental Responsibility' and runner-up for 'Excellence in Customer Service'.

Wirquin, known for its Celmac and Macdee sanitary brands, won the award as a result of the way the company's working practices benefit its customers, the community and the environment, as well as the ongoing sustainability of its efforts.

"This award is special as it is the result of the involvement of every single employee towards a more sustainable way of working," said managing director Gwenhael Le Coent, at the ceremony.

Wirquin also came runner up in the Customer Service Category. "It is a massive achievement for all of the department," Peter Watson, customer fulfilment manager, proudly said. "This reward is the result of a lot of hard work over the last three years."

Wirquin was shortlisted in three categories, including 'Excellence in Marketing and Communications'. Following the initial application, the judges visited the plant to find out why the company should win above other applicants representing the best of Doncaster.

"We are very proud of this year's successes; It is a great recognition for our teams to receive a reward like this from our peers," said Gwenhael.

The Doncaster Business Awards ceremony was hosted by BBC presenter Louise Minchin for the second year running, and attended by over 900 guests; 100 more than last year.
