Twyford works with homeless charity, CRASH, to support projects in the North East

* Twyford-Quinta.jpgTwyford has donated products from its Quinta and T4 ranges to two projects in the North East that provide accommodation for vulnerable homeless people, through the charity CRASH.

CRASH is a practical charity addressing the issues of homelessness by harnessing the skills, products and goodwill of the construction and property industry. Every year, the charity uses this support to help a large number of homelessness charities throughout the UK to refurbish and develop their buildings.

Twyford is an official supporter of the charity and during 2015, it donated washbasins and toilets from the Quinta range, plus T4 shower enclosures and Siron taps.

The products have supported Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP) in Newcastle with the creation of self-contained flats for homeless women after evidence showed that there was virtually no supported move-on accommodation for this vulnerable group in the area.

The products also helped the 700 Club in Darlington to convert a former Bed & Breakfast into 11 self-contained rooms with en-suite facilities for single homeless men and women with mental health, drug and alcohol problems. Since opening its first hostel in 1997, the 700 Club has helped thousands of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

"CRASH supports projects across the country that help some of our most vulnerable residents," says Raffaela De Vittorio, marketing and brands director at parent company Geberit. "We are proud to have been able to play a part by providing products from our ceramics ranges for some of those projects, as we know they are helping people rebuild their lives."

Says the 700 Club's CEO, Dr John Elliston:

"Our building is now ideal for the very complex clients with whom we work. We are extremely grateful for all that we have received from CRASH and their patrons and supporters, including Twyford. They have literally provided the building blocks for changing people's lives."
