Latest kitchen lighting and power solutions
Sensio launched a number of new lighting and power solution innovations at the show. These included the Midway V1 hanging rail system, new wireless charging pads, new SensioPod R and the new Multi-Light App. John particularly liked the bed, which appeared to be floating, as our picture shows...
Also on the stand and shown for the first time were products launched during 2015; the power solutions SensioPod Bluetooth and SensioPower U, plus under cabinet lights SLS Quadra, Nico, Arrow, Titon and Venus and the award winning SensioSound light with quality integrated Bluetooth speaker.
There was also a selection of Sensio's popular task, mood and convenience kitchen and bedroom lighting solutions which allowed the company to demonstrate its remote smart lighting App. All the kitchen and bedroom products from Sensio come with a five-year guarantee.
The new Midway hanging rail system, developed by the UK design team, offers a clever solution for kitchen organisation and illumination. It's been designed to allow space to be utilised between the kitchen wall units and worktop, providing both task lighting and easy-to-access storage space. It's an ultimately flexible system, available in a black or silver finish that offers five components which work together in a variety of combinations.
The range starts with the 1m top hanging profile that will accommodate any flexible LED strip from the Sensio range. The LED strip is inserted into the profile channel and covered to diffuse the light. There's then a choice of four accessories that simply clip into the top profile; a large shelf, small shelf, utensil hooks and kitchen roll holder. Each accessory is stackable too, allowing more usable storage solutions in a compact space.
The new Sensio wireless charging pad is simply fitted into the worksurface for a discreet, flush fit, quick to use charging solution. Any Qi enabled mobile device may then be charged simply by placing the device on top of the wireless charger unit. If the mobile device doesn't have a built-in Qi an additional interface is required so Sensio has also introduced a Qi receiver phone case for iPhone 5, 6 and 6+ models.
Multi-Light is a mobile App that couples with Bluetooth receivers, enabling you to control any Sensio Lighting product that requires a 12/24V driver from an Apple mobile device. The free download 'Sensio Multi-Light' App is available now from the Apple App store. It works with a receiver purchased from Sensio that can be retrofitted for each driver you'd like to control from the App. The App very simply enables you to switch the light on and off, control dimming, control colour and even change the colour of your lighting to reflect the sound and beat of your music. The App allows you to remotely control either single lights or your chosen group of lights together.
A new addition to the SensioPod range is SensioPod R, a discreet single socket power solution, perfect if you have minimal void space below the worktop. This SensioPod contains one 13amp socket and 2 USB ports. The unit comes in a high quality stainless steel finish and sits a discreet 5mm proud of the work surface, the depth of the lid itself being just 1mm stainless steel. An Illuminated red power icon indicates when power is being supplied to the product that's equality suitable for the kitchen, bedroom or home office.
The SensioSound under cabinet light with integrated Bluetooth speaker was one of 10 winners of this year's KBB Birmingham Innovation Award. SensioSound is a dual purpose under cabinet light with Bluetooth speaker, a cool yet practical technology that adds tidiness to your sociable kitchen space. SensioSound offers a high output cool or warm white LED light with built in speaker enabling music to be played while cooking or entertaining, without cluttering the worktop with unwanted speakers. Wirelessly connect your mobile device to the SensioSound by enabling Bluetooth; once this is done you're all set to play your music through the fitting.
SensioSound is one of the brightest lights offered by Sensio projecting a dazzling 334 lumens (measure of visible light) with a low 8W output (12V). It comes in a steel finish with an integrated heat-sync and frosted lens for a diffused light output.
As for the installation, all that's needed is a SensioSound fitting and 12V driver. No receivers, wireless boxes or additional wiring is required, just a mobile device with Bluetooth. Two SensioSounds can be used in sync for larger areas and they'll both have an operational range of 10m.
