Latest Pegler Yorkshire award win recognises long term commitment to quality
Pegler Yorkshire, a leading global plumbing and heating manufacturer, has added the latest to its long line of awards as it received recognition for being one of only two companies in the world to have held the BSI Kitemark(tm) for over 70 years, in addition to being the first UK business to receive the much coveted recognition.
Pegler Yorkshire was awarded the Kitemark in 1945 for its copper pipe fittings and since then has remained unswerving in its commitment to producing products of exceptional quality and pioneering new technologies and products in the plumbing and heating sector.
"The Kitemark symbol is something that we are particularly proud of as it is synonymous with our commitment to design, develop and manufacture quality products in all our market sectors giving everyone from specifiers, installers and end users, complete confidence in the Pegler Yorkshire name and all our associated brands," says Phill Jackson, marketing and business development director Pegler Yorkshire.
"It shows that our products have been independently tested and gives product reliability, safety and whether it is fit-for-purpose, and is a great tool when sourcing a whole range of products giving consumer confidence."
The Kitemark is awarded by BSI (British Standards Institution) and was established in 1903. It allows businesses in a variety of sectors, including automotive, construction, utilities, food and drink and medical to name but a few to apply for the BSI Kitemark or one of its certification schemes, which commend service and quality through an assessment process.
Gary Fenton, global product certification director, BSI comments: "We are delighted to award Pegler Yorkshire with this special award, celebrating over 70 years of holding the BSI Kitemark.
"Pegler Yorkshire is a great example of a business that has demonstrated organisational resilience through certification, holding an impressive nine BSI Kitemarks for various products, as well as ISO 9001 and CE marking.
"The BSI Kitemark, which was launched in 1903, has stood the test of time as has Pegler Yorkshire and both continue to give reassurance to the end user that a product is high quality, safe and reliable."
