Hoover joins retra in support of independents

Leading domestic appliance manufacturer Hoover is looking to increase its support to independent retailers in the UK by joining the Radio, Electrical & Television Retailers Association as an associate member.

After a strong performance in sales over the last 12 months, Hoover has identified the independent sector as a key area for growth.

Steve Macdonald, marketing director of Hoover's freestanding division comments: "By joining RETRA we will be able to increase our awareness within the independent retail sector, while also working with the association to take on board any recommendations that will help improve our offering. We are also really looking forward to RETRA's annual events and being able to promote our products and services to its members."

RETRA is the UK's leading trade association for independent electrical retailers and servicing organisations. The organisation welcomes Hoover as it joins some 1,000 members, including electrical retailers, service engineers and custom installers.

Hoover has a range of appliances available exclusively to independent retailers; the Premier Collection launched in 2014 and offers retailers good margins and features a wide selection of washing machines, washer dryers, dryers and cooling products.

Steve continued: "We are always looking at ways to support independent retailers and becoming an associate member of RETRA is one of several investments we are making to support this important channel. We recently exhibited at the CIH Showcase at the NEC in Birmingham, which gave us a great opportunity to engage with retailers across the UK."
