Mereway bath racer team raises £1000
A team of runners from Mereway raised £1000 for its 30th Anniversary charity appeal whilst pushing a 'Bath Racer' around the five mile Knowle Fun Run.
The West Midlands-based kitchen, bathroom and bedroom manufacturer has set a challenge to raise £30,000 during its 30th year and the Knowle Fun Run is one of the many sporting events taking place across the country.
The Bath Racer was the brainchild of Mereway buyer Wayne Frost and SpeedFab, a supplier to Mereway that manufactures bespoke stainless steel parts.
"We are delighted to have boosted the total raised so far by £1000," says Mereway sales & marketing director Graham Jones, who was part of the Mereway team. "Many thanks to all those that supported this event and in particular donations from our suppliers, SpeedFab, Versital and Vitra.
"We had a great day, it was a well-supported community event and the crowds donated £186.00 whilst we were running.
"Congratulations to all of the runners that took the Bath Racer around the course in a respectable time of just 51 mins."
Mereway is supporting four main charities that will receive the bulk of the funds raised, with another list of local charities selected by staff all to receive a donation.
The four charities that will benefit are Acorns, The Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity, Help for Heroes and Helping Harry Help Others.
