Chalon awarded furniture Manufacturing Guild Mark for excellence

Chalon UK has been awarded the prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark, awarded by the City livery company, the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, to only to the very best of British furniture manufacturers.

Launched in 1994 and now celebrating its 16th year, the MGM is specifically aimed at British volume manufacturing firms committed to design and innovation, the highest standards of production/craftsmanship, impeccable customer service and training.

"Anyone purchasing furniture from a MGM holder can be sure that it will have been made in the UK to the highest quality with integrity and care," says John Douglas, MGM Chairman. "Consumers have the added reassurance, from a highly respected, independent source, that the producers meet the exacting standards required and that there will be consistency in product quality."

So strict are the standards that there are currently just 21 holders of the MGM and Chalon is proud to be one of just a handful of specific kitchen companies.

To be awarded the MGM, there is a comprehensive, evidence-based checklist of high standards to be met, covering everything from design, manufacture and fitness for purpose of products, through to aftersales, communication and environmental considerations.
"Once an applicant has been approved, membership is for three years - but further audits can be conducted at any time to ensure standards are being upheld," says John Douglas.

Chalon remains committed to the highest standards of quality and its continuing award of this scheme - first bestowed in 1998 and now in the fourteenth consecutive year - provides the best possible endorsement of its manufacturing techniques.

Over the past few months, Chalon's focus has been on opening its seventh new UK showroom in Knutsford, Cheshire - which is already proving very successful. Immediate plans in the pipeline for 2011 include a range of new additions to the Lighting range, as well as continued support for the new showroom in Florida.
