CIH retailers achieve victory at Beko classic pro-am golf tournament
CIH retailers took part in the Beko Classic Pro-Am Golf tournament in October to compete and play at the Gloria Serenity Golf Resort, near Antalya, Turkey.
The stunning resort with luxury hotel, designed by renowned architect Michel Gayon, offers a lovely atmosphere and with its rolling greens and the blue Mediterranean on the horizon, it made for the perfect venue.
Hosted by Steve Naylor, channel manager independents, Beko, the CIH team included Andrew Thomas from AF Thomas & Sons, Newport; Neil Lunt from Lunt's Domestic Appliances in Liverpool and Martyn Acland from Acland's Radio & Television, Bridgewater, Somerset. The three-day event involved a different professional hosting the individual amateur teams each day. The pros included John Daly, renowned for his driving distance off the tee earning him the nickname of 'Long John'.
"The Tournament - in its 20th year - was set in an exquisite Turkish resort," says Steve Naylor. "It was a magnificent trip, which had mixed fortunes for most of us. However, the CIH team was exceptional and was leading the tournament after the first day; 16 under par on day two; and 12 under par on the final day. The team eventually came fourth and lifted a prize trophy. It was a tremendous result and a well-deserved trophy."
