ArtiCAD acquires majority stake in Smart Systems (Generalsoft)

KBB software innovator, ArtiCAD, has announced that it has purchased a majority stake in Smart Systems, a leading pricing and business management system producer.

ArtiCAD has enjoyed a strategic partnership with Smart Systems for several years, providing mutual customers with fully integrated, comprehensive design, pricing and management tools. The acquisition, announced at the end of 2016, will foster even more technology integration between the two companies with the aim of delivering an ever-improving customer experience together with access to hundreds of manufacturers' product catalogues.

"Our customers requested more supplier catalogues, enhanced pricing options and business management tools: this acquisition represents a major step towards delivering these goals," explains ArtiCAD's managing & technical director, Richard Turner (pictured).

"The synergy between our two companies and our approach to working with our customers in the KBB industry is virtually identical. Both ArtiCAD and Smart Systems are customer-centric and development-driven, and both companies have built strong track records in software innovation and technology 'firsts' that help retailers, designers and manufacturers to improve their operations and to sell more of their products and services. In fact, we are already starting to work on exciting new technology developments together.

ArtiCAD will continue to fully support customers using other pricing and business management software and similarly, Smart will continue to fully support its customers using other CAD software packages.
