Celebrating 150 years in style!
Burbidge is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and to mark this special birthday, the company held an open day at its Coventry headquarters to enable visitors to learn more about Burbidge's past, present and future and examine its production facilities and latest kitchen ranges.
As well as the factory tour, the event included a showroom visit. These showcased how the beautiful Burbidge products are made, and revealed how the bespoke colours can be created. There were also short presentations from Ben Burbidge and his father David.
Those who attended were intrigued by the special installation of a 1970s Burbidge kitchen, which offered a real 'blast from the past' and showed what kitchen trends were like back then and what they're like now and why!
There was a presentation of Burbidge's special edition 150th anniversary colour palette which is representative of Burbidge and popular colour trends over the decades, and an unveiling of a new new logo to commemorate the 150th anniversary...
Burbidge was launched by wood-worker Henry Burbidge in 1867 originally as a manufacturer of wood turned sports equipment before expanding into the KBB market in the early 90's. Fast forward 150 years and Burbidge is widely recognised as the longest standing kitchen manufacturer in Britain and a pioneer of premium and exceptionally crafted kitchen design.
Burbidge's new look logo denotes a more modern, elegant and bold ethos, and also features a separate special-edition '150th anniversary' tagline for this year only. The new logo can now be seen on the business premises and all promotional material.
We are told that this is just the start of the 150th anniversary activity with lots more in the pipeline which will see customers, colleagues and other stakeholders - old and new, help celebrate this exceptional milestone.
"Our business has reached an incredibly important milestone; very few businesses have been around for as long as we have, and it's a remarkable achievement," Ben Burbidge told the visitors. "We are proud to be celebrating 150 years of Burbidge - especially as in 2017 we are stronger and more successful than ever.
"As a business founded on its design credentials it's vital that our brand identity reflects our strong contemporary views and business proposition. We are therefore delighted to reveal our bold new logo, putting us in good stead for another 150 years of success."
