kbb London inspires with educational seminar programme

kbb London's seminar programme is set to attract plenty of show visitors, with topical discussions and debates on the hot issues at the heart of the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom design industry. The free seminar sessions will run alongside the exhibition, which launches this year from 15th - 17th May 2011 at the ExCeL, London.

David Nicholls, Design Editor of Daily Telegraph Saturday Magazine and Julia Goodwin, Editor of House Beautiful will discuss the latest and future kitchen and bathroom trends, which are set to change the dynamics of the kbb design landscape. Further trends insight will be presented by Global Color Research, who will unveil global colour trend forecasts for the forthcoming season.

The session 'Design for Life' will present inspirations and latest concepts from the industry's established designers - people behind the most innovative recent product concepts. The guests of this panel session include Simon Wilson, Benjamin Hubert, Amos Marchant and Martin Preen.

Seminars on retail design will discuss efficient ways of marketing and selling original designs, with an array of retail tools, such as utilising shop windows and creating a stimulating shop floor. Speakers in these sessions include Richard Gomersall who will explain his idea of the 'Retail Theatre' and a panel of speakers including Paul Rowland from CP Hart, Simon Wood of Molteni Dada and Roger Kyme of Ripples.

Andrew Davies from kbb review will discuss the 'green' side of the business - how to make money from sustainability, while Oliver Heath will present a design-led approach to green interiors, unveiling the benefits of 'Eco Chic'.

The positive influence of home spaces on general wellbeing is another topic on the seminar agenda. The panel of speakers including creative director of Plain English, Simon Wood from Molteni Dada and Kathleen Hall, senior designer for Naomi Cleaver will share their observations on the ways to create kitchens which are living spaces and implementing designs which can turn interiors into the heart of the home.

The 'Dreamscape' session will explore the idea of a perfect bedroom. Alistair Hughes of Savoir Beds, interiors journalist Barbara Chandler, Tine Norden of Conran and Partners and Ruth Wasserman of Ercol will discuss designs and trends, which contribute to a perfect interior setting.

The kbb London seminar programme will also present a wealth of networking and self-development opportunities through Building Design morning and afternoon sessions and CPA accredited seminars.
