Alno UK - business as usual

Alno AG, Alno Logistik GmbH and Gustav Wellmann GmbH & Co. KG applied to the German Court for insolvency on Wednesday.

The subsidiaries including the UK business and the Pino factory are outside of the scope of these proceedings.

The process in Germany is that an insolvency practitioner will be appointed, the local German government will step in and ensure continued payment of the German staff whilst the insolvency practitioner seeks to restructure the affected businesses and will appoint a chief restructuring officer and a chief administration officer to oversee this process.

The affected factories will continue production as normal under the existing management and the appointed chief restructuring officer and chief administration officer. These factories represent 22.5% of Alno UK purchases.

Alno UK has a long-standing reputation and successful trading history through its UK retail, franchise and contracts divisions. It will proceed as normal with the continued support of its business partners.

The affected German factories are still operating, orders are continuing to be fulfilled and taken, and Alno UK's direct relationship with its logistics supplier means that its delivery process is also unaffected.

The Alno UK directors are doing everything possible to facilitate a smooth continuation of service for its business network and consumers.
