LDL centralises business operation in Hadfield
LDL Components has announced its intention to centralise its business operation at its Northern premises in Hadfield, near Glossop in Derbyshire. The move follows a comprehensive review of the business and reflects its commitment to consistent improvement and future development.
The company was formed in 2010 when Bath-based business, Lord Distribution Limited and OML Limited, located in Hadfield, merged. Although there was natural synergy between the two companies and the resulting business has grown dramatically, there has always remained the challenge of working from two sites 170 miles apart.
As growth continues, stimulated by the new LDL 3D drawer assembly function, the company's directors have decided to centralise all LDL functions from the current distribution centre in Hadfield, Derbyshire. Matthew Lord, LDL's managing director, comments: "We are confident this move benefits everyone, ensuring greater consistency for our customers. Regrettably, this move will result in the closure of the Bath office in Spring 2018."
The directors are very much looking forward to the future of LDL 'all under one roof' and already have exciting plans to introduce a new showroom and better training facilities in the first half of 2018 at the company's new home.
