LDL sponsors FDA Kitchen Design student

Leading distributor LDL Components says it is delighted to be sponsoring Joanna Cummings, a first year FDA Kitchen Design student.

Currently an Assistant Designer at Room - the Blackpool-based professional bespoke kitchen, bedroom and furniture designer, Joanna has just embarked on the three year course at Bucks New University. The course has been designed in conjunction with key members of the kitchen industry in response to national training needs.

Joanna explains that, after completing her BA in History of Art, she was looking for a practical career that would allow her to continue thinking creatively.

"When I took up my position at Room, I was interested in the interior design aspect of the business, but after observing the process of conceptualising and manufacturing the kitchens I was keen to begin designing schemes of my own," she says.

"Once I heard about the FDA Kitchen Design course I was eager to take part in order to widen my knowledge and I am thankful to LDL and Room for giving me the opportunity to hear and speak to those at the forefront of the industry.

"Also, by being able to complete my research whilst working full-time at Room, I hope to continue developing my design software skills and refine my own style."
