Gorenje searches for a new strategic partner following net profit announcement
Kitchen appliance manufacturer, Gorenje, has announced a 12% growth in the first nine months of 2017, which equates to a net profit of €4.6m, and a 5% sales increase of €944m.
The company has also revealed that it is now seeking a suitable partner and potential shareholder to be in place by the end of Q3 2018.
The search for the new partnership is aiming to assist with the improvement of cost efficiency and to strengthen the firm, which is Slovenia's second largest exporter.
Iztok Krulc, managing director at Gorenje UK, comments: "Whilst the cost of raw materials has continued to rise, we've had a successful year and are keen to build on that with this collaboration.
"The business is built on strong foundations and a rich heritage, and is something we want to continue in order to take Gorenje to the next level."
Gorenje has attributed the 12% net profit increase, in-part, to more customers replacing their kitchen appliances to make way for newer, energy-efficient models.
"People are wanting to save money on running costs or boost their green credentials, and are becoming increasingly aware of how impactful highly-rated appliances can be," adds Iztok.
"We have always prioritised energy efficiency and it'll certainly continue to be at the top of the agenda for production during 2018."
A leader in energy-efficient appliances, 83 per cent of Gorenje's product range is rated A or above.
