Wilsonart develops blogger collaboration for real feedback
"Working with interiors bloggers is proving a compelling way to get consumer trend feedback and product exposure," says Ruby Larvin, marketing communications manager for Wilsonart UK.
Over the last two years the company has worked with several high-profile bloggers offering product at a discount in return for honest feedback and pictures of the worksurfaces in use in real homes, with genuine issues and real families. "Our products are in use in homes, places of work and commercial property across the world," explains Ruby. "It's terrific to get feedback and sight of how the products are performing and what they actually look like in real homes."
This time successful lifestyle blogger Antonia Ludden #tidylife was looking to create a coffee bar feel in her family home. She explains: "When you think of a trendy coffee bar it's all reclaimed wood and metal tables, large windows, industrial pendant lights etc.
"My original idea was to use scaffold boards to make a rustic counter top. But practically, I was not sure if the surface would be a bit too rough and difficult to keep clean. So, I began a search for an authentic looking wood effect laminate and came across Wilsonart's Mississippi Pine.
"I was not aiming to match the rest of the kitchen counters which are faux black granite - I wanted this coffee area to have its own distinct look, separate to the rest of the room, but hopefully complementary. The counter needed to be higher than the other worktops anyway if we were going to use it with bar stools.
"This worktop is epic; it has all the texture and grain I was hoping for and is a lovely natural colour, too. We opted for the matching upstand which gives a smart finish to the counter."
Wilsonart's Mississippi Pine is a premium laminate with a square edge available in 38mm or 50mm depths. A full sample service is available from:
