Pushing the boundaries of bathroom product design

* PWD-Glinks.jpgThe Philip Watts Design stand showcased new products in solid bronze, resin composites, aluminium, chrome and plastic - as well as possibly the tallest sink ever - standing at a little over 7ft tall!

More practically, its Glink is made from extremely durable polyethylene and is available in six solid colours. There is even a version that glows, "We have thought of everything!" says the company's Rachel Watts.

The Glink comes with three mounting options - counter mounted, a wall bracket or a stand.

Sister product to its fabulous Gloo urinal, Glink could be the perfect addition to a commercial or domestic bathroom.

If it all looks a little whacky when viewed next door to the latest contemporary or classic designs in stoneware, it's because it is.

And yet somehow it isn't. The brightly coloured iMacs looked a little strange at first, breaking away from the ubiquitous beige plastic seen everywhere (mine was in blue). But it certainly put Apple on the map! Where it had previously been looked upon as a quirky bit-player, Apple is now the biggest computer company on Earth.

And that was a British designer too...
