BMA sponsors new award to promote customer safety through compliance
The Bathroom Manufacturers Association has sponsored a new award designed to recognise innovation and initiatives that promote consumer safety through compliance in bathroom products and installation.
The award has been launched by the National Home Improvement Council and is open for entries until 13th October. It is open to any organisation that operates in the bathroom industry such as a manufacturer, social landlord, local authority or retailer and the winner will be announced at the NHIC Annual Awards Luncheon on 22nd November at One Whitehall Place, London.
"We are delighted to sponsor this award," says BMA CEO Yvonne Orgill. "As the independent voice of the bathroom industry, we are committed to raising standards and awareness of the need to promote compliant products.
"The UK market is being flooded with products from shower enclosures, trays and screens and ceramic-ware like toilets, bidets and basins that don't meet the required 'fit for purpose' safety & quality standards.
"This award will help us highlight the need for the industry to embrace compliance and raise awareness of the effects of non-compliance.
"We are confident that there are plenty of organisations able to demonstrate how they are involved in promotion and education, maybe via a training programme or similar. We would encourage all retailers, local authorities, landlords, manufacturers or any organisation to enter.
