The Bathroom Manufacturers Association has raised £2,318 for its nominated charity, The Children's Burns Trust, from its 2018 charity golf tournament and an after-dinner raffle.
The annual golf tournament took place last week on the championship golf course at the Vale Resort Hotel, Vale of Glamorgan, the day before the bathroom and kitchen business conference. The raffle took place at the pre-conference dinner that same evening.
A total of 20 companies and 44 players took part in the golf tournament with the overall winner, Rob Garfoot, taking the coveted Robert Brown Trophy. The winning team included Craig Rothwell and Rob Garfoot from 2020 Technologies, Dean Buckingham from Hubert Burda Media UK and Robert Weir from Abacus Direct.
Other winners included Michael Clarke from Rak Ceramics UK for Nearest the Pin and Mike Tattam from Lakes Bathrooms for the Longest Drive.
The pre-tournament breakfast, 1st and 18th holes were all sponsored by Katsus.
Raffle prizes were donated by Neoperl UK, The Water Label, Methven UK, Roca Laufen, Vitra UK, Roman, Kastus, Dallmer, Coram Showers and Conference Call Venues.
According to many that took part it was a challenging course.
"The Charity Golf Day is always a fantastic event," says BMA CEO Yvonne Orgill. "We are grateful to those that took part and helped to make it such a memorable day.
"Our thanks also go to those that generously donated prizes for the charity raffle which helped boost the total raised to almost £2,500 for this very worthy charity."
