LDL to be plastic-free by 2020

* LDL-baler.jpgLDL, the UK's leading component distributor, has announced its commitment to removing all plastics from its packaging by the end of 2019.

Simon Ogden, managing director, explains: "We live in an ecologically fragile world and sustainability has never been more important. With plastic accounting for up to 90% of all oceanic pollution, we couldn't in good conscience continue to contribute to this growing problem. That's why we pledge to remove all plastics from LDL packaging by the end of 2019."

Sustainability and reducing the company's environmental footprint has always been a key focus for LDL. After a record-breaking year in 2018, the company is now well placed to invest in a more sustainable packing solution. The replacement packaging, still currently being refined, will be recyclable cardboard. The company has also invested in a new baler to improve the efficiency and volume of the cardboard they recycle.

LDL is the UK's leading distributor of furniture fittings and accessories, specialising in quality products for the premium sector of the market.
