BMA supports Water Saving Week with two consumer videos
The Bathroom Manufacturers Association is supporting Water Saving Week (29th April - 3rd May) by promoting two new videos, designed to help consumers think about how they use water and look for products with the Unified Water Label (UWL).
The videos are part of a consumer campaign to promote the UWL and encourage more consumers to select bathroom products that carry the label, in order to make informed choices that will help save water.
"Water Saving Week is another opportunity for those in the bathroom industry to work together and raise awareness about how we use water, our most precious resource," says BMA CEO Yvonne Orgill.
"We all have a responsibility if we are to avoid the 'jaws of death' situation in which there would not be enough clean water unless urgent action was taken to cut usage, as predicted by the Environment Agency earlier this year."
This is the fifth year that Waterwise has promoted Water Saving week. The aim is to share ideas, solutions and related challenges. The themes covered this year include Meat Free Monday, Toilet Tuesday, Wash Wednesday, Tap Thursday and Freshwater Friday.
The UWL is a voluntary scheme that is currently used by over 155 brands and registered with more than 13,200 products across Europe. The UWL provides a clear and simple system to identify water saving products. Choosing UWL products, which are then installed and used correctly, will deliver environmental and cost-saving benefits, without any loss in performance for consumers.
