Hotpoint fridge freezers can help reduce food waste

* Hotpoint-fridge-freezers.jpgFood waste is a huge global issue and Hotpoint believes it is important to encourage consumers to become more sustainable, by providing practical solutions to reduce food waste at home.

According to new research commissioned by Hotpoint, cheese, bagged salad and mince are within the top 10 most wasted foods in the UK.

The research also revealed the reasons that Brits throw away their food, including: buying too much (32%), fear of being ill from ‘gone off’ food (23%), having food in the fridge that looks or smells weird (35%) and not knowing how long loose fruit and vegetables will remain fresh to eat (13%). What’s more, 59% of consumers blame poor fridge admin and being disorganised for the amount of food waste in their household.

In light of this, the Hotpoint Class 7 Total NoFrost fridge freezer (H7T 911A MX H AQUA) provides the ultimate freshness for food and keeps it fresh for longer. The ‘A+’ rated fridge freezer benefits from a series of innovations, including Day 1 technology that keeps food fresh for longer, helping consumers to reduce food waste.

Part of Hotpoint’s Day 1 technology, the Fresh Zone+ compartment in the Hotpoint Class 7 fridge freezer (H7T 911A MX H AQUA), makes storing fresh fruit and vegetables truly effortless, while the Fresh Zone 0°C compartment maintains a temperature of around 0°C, which makes it perfect for storing fresh food items such as meat, fish and cheese.

The Active Fresh system assures precise control over temperature levels, effectively maintaining optimal refrigeration conditions and preventing temperature fluctuations. Furthermore, Active Oxygen technology keeps the fridge smelling fresh, and eliminates strong odours, by oxidising and neutralising unpleasant odours by up to 70% as well as preventing the growth of bacteria by up to 90%.

Boasting a sleek and contemporary design, the appliance also benefits from the luxury of a built-in water dispenser, allowing for instant access to chilled water straight from the fridge door. It not only saves the family a fortune from buying bottled water, but also reduces single-use plastic in the home, reducing the impact on the environment and leaving more room in the fridge.

The fridge freezer comes with an impressive capacity of 360 litres, 256 litres in the fridge and 104 litres in the freezer. The fridge includes a handy wine rack and adjustable shelves for customisation and to create more room for bigger items. What’s more, the fridge freezer benefits from Total NoFrost technology, ensuring users never have to defrost their fridge or freezer again.

Catherine Balderson, senior Hotpoint brand manager says: “With the ever-increasing edible food waste issues, it is our mission to help consumers reduce food waste in their homes. Every inch of the Hotpoint Class 7 Total NoFrost fridge freezer (H7T 911A MX H AQUA) has been designed with intuitive solutions to keep food fresh for longer.”

“Our Day 1 refrigeration technology supports our on-going ‘Fresh Thinking for Forgotten Food’ campaign, which encourages consumers to think differently about their leftovers, turning the most commonly wasted ingredients into tasty dishes.”
