The Used Kitchen Company launches lockdown initiative with KBSA

* The-Used-Kitchen-Co.jpgThe UK's used kitchen recycling ambassador, The Used Kitchen Company (TUKC), has joined forces with The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association to assist the high street and independent kitchen retailers facing up to the second national pandemic lockdown this year.

TUKC has put meaning behind the hashtag #inthistogether, through its pledge to make a donation to the KBSA for every ex-display or used kitchen that it sells during lockdown. This will continue for as long as the second lockdown lasts.

The move highlights TUKC's concern for the independent kitchen businesses that have been affected during 2020 and its desire to support the trade association which promotes, protects and supports the independent kitchen, bathroom and bedroom retail specialist.

TUKC's CEO, Looeeze Grossman, is calling on kitchen showrooms to get in touch and provide details of ex-displays they want to move on, to not only support the campaign but also help to put their kitchens back into the circular and virtuous economy.

TUKC has had one of its best years to date, due to homeowners upgrading kitchens and homes, to improve both their lifestyles and their properties, whilst also having something to do, through a home improvement project. The business now wishes to give something back to the kitchen retail sector and is confident it can raise an impressive sum.

Looeeze Grossman says: "Kitchen showrooms already partner with The Used Kitchen Company to derive the feelgood factor associated with making better use of the planet's resources and to boost their green credentials and showcase these to their customers. During lockdown, they can go further than this and also derive the satisfaction of knowing they are assisting their fellow kitchen retailers through our new initiative. So many people can win if we really embrace the essence of #inthistogether."

KBSA national chair, Richard Hibbert, says: "This is a welcome initiative from TUKC. We appreciate its support for the industry and are delighted that it has joined other companies in the sector, giving something back that will benefit independent retailers.

"We will allocate the money raised to a specific project, once the campaign is completed."
