KBSA boosts membership

The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association has boosted its membership over the past few weeks.

New retail members are located across the UK and include; Showcase Kitchens in Brighton, Anderson Sinclair in Essex, Prestige Kitchens in Cheshire, Henry Rose Interiors in Cambridgeshire, Kitchens by Design in Gloucestershire, Kitchen Shoppe with two showrooms in North Harrow and Richmond, as well as two that are Edinburgh-based: Redpath Kitchens & Bathrooms in Musselburgh, and Zen Kitchens & Bathrooms, a new foundation member, in Livingston.

Heather Oliver, from Zen Kitchens & Bathrooms, probably sums up everyone's feelings, saying: "The KBSA badge demonstrates to our customers that we are a reputable company. We are also impressed with the range of business benefits that come from membership. The Consumer Finance package will be a significant boost to our business, enabling us to tap into this sector of the market with ease," while Owen Redpath from Redpath Interiors says: "Joining the KBSA is a great move for us, bringing some great member benefits and allowing us to be part of the consumer protection scheme. As well as enhancing our successes to date, we feel better supported in the current climate as a result, and look forward to getting to know fellow members."

KBSA regional chair for Scotland, Keith Wilson, is delighted with the two signings in his region. "I am pleased to welcome both new members into the Association", he says. "It has been a challenging year for independent retailers, making the support that the KBSA can provide even more valuable. We hope to see more members join in 2021."

Kitchens by Design, a showroom based in Coleford, Gloucestershire, specialises in superior German designed kitchens by Leicht and Nobilia. Established since 2005, initially as part of a franchise kitchen company, it has been operating as an independent retailer since 2009. Joint showroom owner David Sayers (pictured with Vanessa Sayers) says: "We are delighted to offer customers the extra peace of mind that the KBSA badge brings. Whilst we have the credibility of having been successful in business for more than 15 years, the unpredictable world that we now operate in, has had an impact on consumer confidence. Being able to offer deposit protection insurance and show that we operate in accordance with the criteria for membership, provides a competitive advantage and extra reassurance for customers that they are in safe hands."

The KBSA also boasts a new corporate member: KH System Möbel, a manufacturer of quality German kitchens. Established in 1987, the company has built a reputation for affordable designer kitchens with British retailers. Matt Hall, its UK sales manager, says: "We are delighted to have joined the KBSA and are looking forward to working with it to support the KBB industry and independent retailers. It has been a challenging year but we are driving forward our plans for sensible growth, looking for design led retailers that want to work closely with a unique, quality German manufacturer. We offer a huge amount of flexibility and innovative design. Our ability to supply bespoke units, across an unlimited range of colours, finishes and price points, offers many benefits and advantages to our retailers."
KBSA national chair Richard Hibbert says: "I am pleased to welcome these new members into the Association. Whilst it has been a challenging year, membership growth has never been stronger for the KBSA, with around 30 new members so far this year. This reflects the commitment we have made to work with the Government on behalf of the sector, and provide members with invaluable support and business services."
